This curriculum was developed for International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia, which is celebrated on May 17th. Studies show that homophobic and transphobic bullying can have a serious negative impact on young people’s lives. These lesson plans were designed to promote tolerance, prevent homophobic bullying in schools and create safer learning environments for students and educators around the world. The lessons are intended for primary and secondary school students. Each lesson is designated for a specific age group. Lessons that directly address issues of homophobia include alternative lessons for countries where it is illegal or unsafe to discuss homosexuality in public.
