Interview with Nasrin Bassiri

Dr. Nasrin Bassiri is an Iranian political scientist and journalist. She obtained her doctorate in political science in Austria in November 1971, and between 1974 and 1979, she taught economics and economic history at the University of Berlin. In February 1979, she returned to Iran and spent a year teaching economics and sociology at Tehran University.

Between 1979 and 1982, she was a board member of the National Federation of Women. She provides consulting services in several German refugee centers whose services focus on women. She also teaches philosophy and social sciences at Berlin University.

Between 1994 and 2009, she appeared on several radio networks, including the BBC and Deutsche Welle Radio. She has also written articles in various magazines on subjects such as women, Islam, literature, policy and culture, and racism in Germany, France, Switzerland and America.
