Writing in response to the political uprisings across the Middle East in 2011, two Iranian students discuss the struggle for democracy and human rights in Iran. Their analysis of the fight for freedom and equality begins with the 2009 presidential elections and examines the progress of the Green Movement following the elections. The authors argue that the Green Movement is lacking an economic focus which could unite middle and lower class Iranians and empower the movement.
