This manual has two objectives: to raise awareness of gender bias and discrimination against women in the workplace and to build-up the capacity of women leaders of cooperatives by equipping them necessary knowledge and skills. The training manual is intended to run a 12-day training workshop. However, it may be adapted and condensed where necessary. The workshop consists of seven modules, comprising several units, and draws upon existing ILO tools on gender analysis, equality and development. Topics cover the fundamentals of cooperatives, gender sensitization and self-transformation, leadership, coping with challenges, organization and enterprise management.
