The Scholar Rescue Fund® formalizes an unwavering commitment to academic freedom that the Institute of International Education (IIE) has demonstrated for over 90 years. Since 2002, the Scholar Rescue Fund has assisted 436 scholars from 46 countries, placing them at over 250 host institutions in 40 countries around the world.

In an attempt to spread the word of the abundant Iranian culture, the Houtan Foundation offers scholarship to students from all origins, Iranian and non-Iranian, who have high academic performance and proven interest in promoting Iran’s great culture, heritage, language and civilization. The candidates for the award must demonstrate leadership ability and the desire to make a difference in the society, where they reside. The Houtan Foundation has a strong interest in each of these student's achievements throughout the scholarship period and beyond, as the foundation’s goal is to participate in each student’s success.
At the present time, the Houtan Foundation offers an award of $2,500 per semester which will be given for a graduate school education for the selected applicant. The award will be offered each fall and spring semester. Please submit the application no later than June 1st for fall semester and Oct. 1st for spring semester.

2014-2015 Hurford Youth Fellowship Program
The World Movement for Democracy is accepting applications for the 2014-2015 Hurford Youth Fellowship program in Washington, D.C. During their four-month fellowships, fellows will have the opportunity to build their leadership skills and benefit from and contribute to, the development of the World Youth Movement for Democracy. All fellows are in residence at the World Movement Secretariat at the National Endowment for Democracy. Youth leaders up to the age of thirty with a demonstrated interest in the advancement of democracy are welcome to apply.
