Letter from Birmingham Jail

Dr. King wrote this letter in response to a statement issued by eight white Alabama clergymen on April 12, 1963, titled "A Call for Unity," which concurred that social injustices were taking place, but expressed that the battle against racial segregation should be fought in the courts and not taken to the streets.
