Mother of Slain Blogger Sattar Beheshti Speaks Out

Iranian blogger Sattar Beheshti was arrested on October 30, 2012 by the Iranian cyber police. Sattar died in custody, allegedly from severe torture. His family was informed of his death one week later, on November 6. Gohar Eshghi, Sattar's mother, recorded this message in her son's memory for the Persian New Year in March 2013.

Note: At 3:45 and 3:49 the word "Rigi" is mistakenly translated as sand. Ms. Eshghi was actually referring to Abdolmalek Rigi, the late head of Baluch separatist group Jundallah.

What Tavaana Students Have to Say

The best aspect of the course was the simplicity and the practical nature of the subjects we were taught. They were put together in a way that was accessible and easily comprehensible, so much so that it made my fear of studying the political sciences disappear and made me want to take part in courses like this again.
