Young men and women make important contributions as workers, consumers, citizens, members of civil society and agents of change. Unfortunately, limited access to decent jobs and lack of knowledge on labor laws restrict the full potential of youths. This guide is designed to create awareness of the importance and need for decent work practices and to help young people identify their key roles as workplace participants. The guide includes a step-by-step guide for facilitators to run labor rights workshops for youth ages 15-24 as well as a toolkit for workshop participants. Facilitators will need a thorough knowledge of their country’s labor system and laws; however, participants will not require any specialized knowledge. Topics covered in the sessions include: contracts, hours of work, pay, occupational safety and international labor regulations.
