Charter 77, January 1977. This was the first document released by the dissident movement in former Czechoslovakia. This movement came to the fore in response to the occupation of the country by the Soviet Union and the normalization of the political situation after the Prague Spring. The charter's activity lasted from 1976 to three years after the Velvet Revolution, until 1992.
