In Iranian and Persian-language journalism, the lack of a universal code of ethics has led news agencies to operate on the basis of their own conscience and beliefs. Any investigation of Persian-language media will show that different news agencies take different approaches as regards the following issues. In most of these issues, Persian-language media does not adhere to any ethical standard.
Defaming individuals in the media
Providing balance in the editing of news articles and reports
Separating reporters’ political views from and maintaining their impartiality in the editing of news articles and reports
Maintaining transparency in the relationships between reporters and economic and political circles
